In recent years, fostering entrepreneurship has become a topic of the highest priority in public policy throughout most industrial countries. This trend can be attributed to the growing awareness that new firms are a driving force of economic growth and job creation. In this context, well-educated entrepreneurs are of paramount interest. It has been found that the self-employed more often have a formal university education compared to people in wage and salary employment. In addition, the economic impact of companies (measured by job creation, growth, and other indicators) founded by university alumnae/i is also more significant. This project aims to explore patterns and factors impacting entrepreneurial propensity of students drawing on international data from Austria, Germany, and USA.
